After completing his own build, David starting thinking about another similar project - designing a permanent house for God. In our sermon today we hear about the carpenter, Joseph, and how he dealt with a complete disruption to his plans. Lord, help us to willingly submit to your plan for our life. |

As we begin the season of Advent, we are called into a period of waiting on God. I pray that this Advent would be free of the annual busy-ness that happens at this time of year - so that you may prayerfully ponder the wonder of what God has in store for us through Jesus Christ. |

November 22 - Last Sunday of Church Year - "Day of fulfilment"

Likewise, saying 'thank you' to God is something that is only learned through years of repetition before it becomes 'natural' for us. (Complete service - 40 minutes duration) Immediately after God miraculously rescued the people of Israel from slavery in Egypt, they began worshipping a statue of a calf made of gold. Instead of praising God for his saving mercy they worshipped an idol! We might think, ‘how dumb is that?’ And yet their idolatry is repeated by all of us at different points. Praise God for his forgiving mercy which frees us from slavery to our 'idols'! |

However, when we look closely at his story, we discover the real reason for his resistance is quite startling and confronting.
