Baptism at St Pauls
Baptism is the rite carried out with water and the Word of God by which God claims us as his children,
washing us clean of our sin and giving us his Holy Spirit. When a person is baptised Christians believe
they are 'united with Christ' and 'born again' to a new life. Baptism is also the beginning of a journey
with Jesus where He calls us to follow him. A life following Jesus means a life with Jesus as our constant companion, and a life where we worship regularly and and grow in our faith. For this reason parents presenting children for baptism are asked to explore their own faith prior to baptism and make certain promises in the Baptismal rite in regard to raising their children in the faith.
If you are interested in being baptised or getting your child baptised, that is wonderful! The first step is to come along to a Sunday service at 8:30am for an initial chat with St Paul's pastor. As you are greeted at the door after service please indicate your desire to have a chat about this. From there the process involves meeting with pastor for several more sessions to explore what the Bible teaches about Baptism and our lives as Christians.
Dates for Baptisms are not scheduled until after this initial discussion with St Paul's pastor.
